Description
The 1967–1972 Chevrolet C10 generation concluded with the 1972 model year, making it the final expression of one of the most beloved truck platforms in American history. These second-generation trucks had earned a loyal following through their combination of clean, wide-body styling, solid engineering, and genuine versatility — qualities that have only appreciated in the eyes of collectors and custom builders over the decades since. The 1972 in particular carries a special significance as the last of its kind, and well-executed builds on this platform consistently rank among the most admired in the classic truck world.
This C10 is a ground-up custom built around a two-tone green exterior finish that draws the eye immediately. The cab and bed present cleanly with tinted glass, custom hydraulic hood hinges, and a standout custom red oak wood bed floor — a detail that elevates the truck’s visual character with natural warmth against the painted metalwork. Extensive rear frame modifications were engineered specifically to achieve the truck’s low ride height, with rear frame rails stepped up to accommodate the suspension geometry, reflecting the depth of fabrication work invested throughout the build.
Power comes from a 6.2-liter LSA supercharged V8 with electronic fuel injection, cold air intake, headers, and a dual exhaust system — a drivetrain combination that delivers serious performance with the everyday reliability of modern fuel injection. A 4L80E 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission manages the output, while the chassis rides on a fully adjustable AccuAir air bag suspension system with a Porterbuilt front clip, tubular front control arms, and a 6-link rear suspension setup. Four-wheel disc brakes and power rack-and-pinion steering ensure the driving dynamics match the visual ambition of the build.
Inside, a custom two-tone interior pairs with Dakota Digital instrumentation, a billet steering wheel, tilt column, and air conditioning to create a cabin that balances driver focus with everyday comfort. The relocated fuel tank tucked beneath the bed floor frees up cargo space while contributing to the truck’s clean overall presentation. On staggered Billet Specialties Talladega wheels — 20-inch up front and 22-inch at the rear — wrapped in Zenna Argus UHP tires, this C10 commands attention from every angle and represents a comprehensively engineered custom build ready for the road.
