Description

The 1967 Ford Mustang marked a significant evolution for the pony car that started it all. Larger, more muscular, and more refined than the original 1964½ and 1965 models, the 1967 Mustang introduced a wider body that could accommodate big-block engines for the first time while retaining the clean, balanced proportions that made the nameplate famous. The convertible body style has always represented the most open and expressive way to enjoy the Mustang experience, and 1967 examples — the first year of the second-generation design — remain among the most sought-after open-top Mustangs in the collector market.

This example has undergone a detailed ground-up restoration and presents in vivid Carrera Red urethane with a black convertible top, clean panel alignment throughout, and a stock exterior profile free of unnecessary modifications. The drivetrain tells a different story — under the hood sits a Ford Racing 392 cubic inch GT-40 Windsor stroker producing 430 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque, built on a Sportsman block with aluminum GT-40 cylinder heads, a Ford Racing hydraulic roller cam, and FAST electronic fuel injection. A Be Cool radiator, billet accessories, and polished strut tower bracing complete an engine bay that is as visually impressive as it is mechanically capable.

Behind the stroker sits a built AOD 4-speed automatic transmission, feeding a FAB9 9-inch rear axle with 3.55 gears on a Chassis Works 4-bar suspension with adjustable coilovers. The front suspension has been rebuilt with Total Control Products tubular control arms, adjustable coilovers, rack-and-pinion steering, and subframe connectors that meaningfully improve chassis rigidity. Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with vented cross-drilled rotors provide stopping power at every corner, while polished Budnik 17-inch wheels wearing Goodyear Eagle F1 radials complete the package. Ceramic-coated Hooker long-tube headers and Flowmaster mufflers deliver a traditional muscle car exhaust note.

Inside, modern leather bucket seats, a custom B&M shifter console, full Auto Meter Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite telemetry, and a powerful Alpine-based stereo system with Dynamat sound deadening create a refined, driver-focused environment. Classic Auto Air conditioning and a Flaming River polished tilt column add everyday comfort and control. Restoration photos, receipts, and component literature accompany the sale — documentation that supports a convertible built to be driven as confidently as it is admired.
